The latest incandescent lamp registration form is now available for suppliers to register models that meet the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Incandescent Lamps for General Lighting Services) Determination 2024 requirements.

You can find the new form in the Energy Rating Product Registration system.

If your 2016 determination registration is about to expire, you can register models that meet the 2024 determinations now.

Suppliers do not need to take immediate action if models are registered against the 2016 determination, unless it is listed in Schedule 1 of the 2024 determination.

The 2024 determination requirements take effect when an incandescent model needs to be registered, or when an existing incandescent model’s registration expires and it needs to be registered for sale in Australia.

Remember, there have been several changes to how incandescent bulbs are regulated for sale in Australia. This includes tungsten filament, carbon filament and halogen incandescent lamps.

Industry participants should review Incandescent lamps for more details.

Consumer information has been revitalised to accommodate lamp changes, including incandescent and light emitting diode lamps – switch and save with more energy efficient lighting choices.
